Dubai, October 10 (WAM) - The Federal Authority for Competition and Statistics (FSA) unveiled an integrated training program on data science in collaboration with DataCamp, one of the world's leading educational platforms specializing in providing data science-related training content.
The programme, which is part of the adoption of the latest technical solutions in data science, will involve the staff of the Federal Competition and Statistics Authority as well as a group of statisticians from local statistical centres and strategic partners, as well as more than 200 young people interested in data science.
Mohammed Hassan, Executive Director of statistics and national data, said that the aim of this initiative is to encourage young statisticians from the academic, government and private sectors, build an advanced community of data scientists in the UAE and build the capabilities and knowledge competencies of the most important technologies available on the world stage in statistics, data and artificial intelligence, where we rely on our strong partnerships with the most important government and private institutions and benefit from national and international expertise and achieve leadership in the UAE in the field of data.
Through its training program, the platform enables us to learn about the latest data science technologies, general concepts of data science, the latest technology in dealing with big and open data, visual data, the importance and areas of their application and their key role in supporting decision makers.
This initiative is part of the efforts of the Federal Authority for Competitiveness and Statistics to develop and qualify national competencies according to the latest technologies and global trends in the fields of statistics and data sciences with the aim of achieving the objectives of the Strategic Authority, which is to improve the global competitiveness of the UAE, develop the statistical system in the UAE and achieve the vision of good leadership that the UAE will become the best security country by 2071.
